Cookie policy
Effective 27 October 2026. Published by Respiresoft LLC. When a policy changes, the date changes and the hub says what changed.
This page lists the cookies and browser storage used on respirecloud.com, the activation and store pages, and the community. None is used for advertising, and no cookie or storage is sent to a third party. The website has a cookie-free visit counter, described in section 1. More about data is in the privacy policy.
1. The website (respirecloud.com)
| Name | Kind | What it is for | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
rc_ref | Cookie (first party) | Set only when you arrive through a partner's link (an address with ?ref=). It holds the partner's code so the partner can be credited if you start a trial or buy. It holds no personal data and is added to the download and pricing links. | 60 days |
rc-site-theme | Browser storage (local) | Remembers if you chose dark or light. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. | Until you clear it |
The website does not use advertising or tracking pixels, and sets no cookies other than those in the table. It does have RespireSoft's own visit counter, served from dev.respiresoft.com. It uses no cookies and stores no IP address. It keeps the country, the page, the referring site, the device, browser and system type, and a per-site anonymised visitor ID. Fonts and images are served from this site. Our web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page, browser) for security and for fixing problems.
2. Activation and store pages (respirecloud.com/store)
| Name | Kind | What it is for | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
rc_activate_b | Cookie (first party, strictly necessary) | Ties the approval of a server to the browser that started it, so another person cannot take it over. Limited to the activation pages. | This browser session |
rc_activate | Cookie (first party, strictly necessary) | Keeps you signed in on the activation page after you enter the six-digit code from your email. Limited to the activation pages. | 1 hour |
rc_ref | Cookie (first party) | The partner code, as above, when you arrive through a partner's short link. It is also read when you activate a licence. | The partner's cookie period, 60 days by default |
3. The community
| Name | Kind | What it is for | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
rc_community | Cookie (first party, strictly necessary) | Keeps you signed in to your community account so you can post, reply and vote. It is not set if you only read. | 7 days |
4. The partner portal and the billing pages
The partner portal signs you in with a session that lasts 12 hours. It sets no cookie. Card payments at checkout are handled by a payment processor named on the checkout page, which may set its own cookies there.
5. The RespireCloud panel and mobile app
The panel you run on your own servers uses its own session cookies and browser storage on your server's address. Those belong to you, are not sent to us, and are described in your panel's documentation. The mobile app keeps sign-in tokens in the phone's secure storage.
6. Your choices
Cookies marked strictly necessary are needed for the feature you asked for, so they do not need a banner. rc_ref only exists if you followed a partner's link, and you can delete it in your browser settings at any time, which does not stop the site from working.
You can also block cookies in your browser. Activation and community sign-in will not work without theirs.
