A cPanel alternative that shows you every change first.

RespireCloud is a self-hosted server panel with the account model hosting businesses already use. It imports cpmove backups with a dry run and a full rollback. It is in early access, and this page says plainly what is not there yet.

What you get when you switch.

An import is a report, a test copy and a commit you can take back.

What comes over from cPanel & WHM.

Run end to end in a lab: an archive with two domains, a subdomain and a parked domain, a WordPress-like site with its database, three mailboxes with mail, a forwarder, a catch-all, cron lines, a DNS zone and a certificate. The archive was built by us to match the cpmove layout.

Brought over

  • The account and its contact
  • Primary, addon, sub and parked domains with their document roots and PHP version
  • The home folder
  • MySQL and MariaDB databases, their users and grants
  • Mailboxes with their mail, forwarders and the catch-all
  • The DNS zone
  • Certificates with their keys

Reported, not brought

  • Mailbox and database passwords: hashes cannot be installed, so mailboxes need a password reset and database users get a new password kept in the vault
  • PostgreSQL databases: skipped and listed
  • FTP accounts: skipped and listed. Autoresponders: not read from the archive
  • Cron lines: listed for you to review, not created

Without a backup file. The new server connects out over SSH, only reads, and pins the source's host key after you confirm it. A final pass brings what changed since the first copy, then gives a DNS checklist per domain. This is proven end to end from a plain Linux server. A cPanel source is recognised and its accounts' files, databases and DNS zones are pulled, but that path is tested against a stand-in only, and mailboxes, passwords and certificates do not come over by a live copy: use the backup for those.

What is different by design.

Questions

Can RespireCloud import a cPanel account?
Yes, from a cpmove backup. The importer reports what will convert, builds the account in a dry run you can test, and commits only when you say so. A rollback removes everything it created. So far this has run end to end on archives we built to match the format, not on a backup from a production cPanel server.
What does not come over from cPanel?
Passwords (mailboxes need a reset, database users get new ones), PostgreSQL databases, FTP accounts and autoresponders. Cron lines are listed for review rather than created. Apache .htaccess rules are not translated: RespireCloud serves sites with nginx.
Can I move without a backup file?
There is a live transfer over SSH that only reads the source and brings changes in a final pass. It is proven from a plain Linux server. From a cPanel server it pulls files, databases and DNS zones and is tested against a stand-in only; mail, passwords and certificates need the backup.
Does RespireCloud have resellers like WHM?
It has administrators, resellers, customers and sub-users. Each sees only their own subtree, plans carry limits that every module enforces, and a reseller can act as a customer with a reason, a visible banner and an audit trail.
Which billing systems work with it?
There are modules for WHMCS, Blesta and HostBill, shipped as checksummed downloads and tested end to end against the panel's connector.
How much does RespireCloud cost?
Prices are not set. RespireCloud is in early access; contact RespireSoft and we will tell you where pricing is heading for your setup.
Is RespireCloud affiliated with cPanel?
No. cPanel and WHM are trademarks of their owner. RespireCloud is an independent product made by RespireSoft.
