Key takeaways
- As of 30 October 2026 Enhance bills per website, from $0.15 each, while cPanel bills per server tier from $29.99 a month.
- Enhance runs every website in its own container and supports Ubuntu 24.04 only; cPanel has the larger ecosystem and the most familiar interface.
- Enhance can import a full cPanel account backup, including mailboxes with passwords, so a move is practical.
- Pick by size: tiny servers favour cPanel tiers or a free panel, large account counts favour Enhance's per website price.
Enhance and cPanel both let a host run many customer websites from one panel. They count the bill in different units, and that is the real difference. This comparison uses the vendors' own pages, opened on 30 October 2026, and says what we could not confirm.
Who each one is for
cPanel suits hosts who want the panel their customers already know, a deep pool of guides and people, and the widest set of integrations. Enhance is newer and aimed at hosts who want strong isolation and a per website price without account tiers.
| Enhance | cPanel | |
|---|---|---|
| Charged by | Websites, tiered | Server tier by account count |
| Entry price | $0.15 per website a month, $10 minimum billing threshold | $29.99 a month (Solo, 1 account) |
| Larger sizes | $0.10 per site from 5,001, $0.075 from 25,001 | Premier up to 100 accounts $69.99, then $0.49 per extra account |
| Free tier | None listed | None listed |
| Isolation | Each website in its own container | See the vendor's docs for your setup |
| Operating system | Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, x86_64 | See the vendor's requirements page |

The licence model
cPanel's page lists four cloud tiers: Solo (1 account) $29.99, Admin (up to 5) $35.99, Pro (up to 30) $53.99 and Premier (up to 100) $69.99 a month, with annual billing at a saving of 8.4 percent on the first three. Premier lists $0.49 for each additional account. The page shows no effective date, and cPanel prices have moved before, so check it again before you commit.
Enhance bills each hosted website at the tier it falls into: $0.15 up to 5,000, $0.10 from 5,001 to 25,000 and $0.075 from 25,001 to 100,000. Its page works the 25,000 site example out as $2,750 a month. Add-on domains, aliases, subdomains, staging sites and the panel's own service sites are not billed. Servers are not billed either, since unlimited servers fall under one cluster licence. Incremental backups, hard resource limits and the WordPress toolkit are included.
A worked example, assuming one website per customer: 100 sites cost about $15 on Enhance and $69.99 on cPanel Premier. At 20 sites, Enhance is about $3 against $53.99 on cPanel Pro, though the $10 minimum billing threshold in the footnote may apply. Your own mix of add-on domains per account changes the maths, so count websites, not customers. The reasoning behind per server and per account models is in flat per server pricing versus per account.
Isolation and the stack
Enhance describes each website as an isolated, containerised environment with its own system user, home directory and optional hard resource limits. That is a security and noisy neighbour advantage on shared servers. Its installer targets a blank virtual machine or bare metal with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, at least 2 GB of RAM, 2 cores and 20 GB of disk, and the page says ARM and container based virtual machines such as LXD are not supported.
cPanel's requirements and isolation options depend on your operating system and add-ons, and we did not verify them for this post. If isolation is your main concern, read the vendor's documentation for the exact setup you would run.
Email and migration
Enhance has an email server role and migrates cPanel mailboxes with their passwords and mail data. Its cPanel importer takes a full account backup from cPanel 102 LTS, 104, 106 or 108 and brings sites, databases except PostgreSQL, SSL certificates, FTP accounts and cron jobs. It does not import wildcard subdomains, Mailman, directory privacy, catch all addresses, autoresponders or calendars, and DNS is limited to MX and SPF TXT records. See the importer page. For the general method of a safe move, read moving from cPanel without downtime.
Which one should you pick
- A handful of sites on one small server: cPanel's smallest tiers are expensive for that, and Enhance's minimum billing threshold also applies. A free panel may suit better; see free control panel for a VPS.
- Dozens to thousands of customer sites: Enhance's per website price is lower in every size we computed.
- Customers who ask for cPanel by name: stay on cPanel and budget for price changes. The history is in DirectAdmin vs cPanel.
- You need AlmaLinux, Debian or ARM: Enhance's installation guide lists none of them as of today.
Where RespireCloud fits
RespireCloud is a third option: a flat price per server, with a free edition for one account. It is on sale now and its numbers are on the pricing page; there is a side by side at cPanel compared. It is newer than both and has a smaller ecosystem, so weigh that honestly.
Questions
Is Enhance cheaper than cPanel?
Usually at larger sizes. As of 30 October 2026 Enhance charges $0.15 per website a month up to 5,000 sites, so 100 sites cost about $15, while cPanel Premier for up to 100 accounts is $69.99.
Can I move from cPanel to Enhance?
Yes. Enhance's importer takes a full cPanel account backup from cPanel 102 LTS, 104, 106 or 108 and brings sites, databases, mailboxes with passwords, SSL certificates and cron jobs. Some items are not imported, so test one account first.
Does Enhance run on CentOS or AlmaLinux?
Its installation guide, read on 30 October 2026, lists Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on x86_64 only. If you need another distribution, check the vendor's page again before planning.
Does Enhance have a free plan?
The pricing page lists no free tier. It lists a per website price with a $10 minimum billing threshold noted in a footnote, so confirm what your first invoice will be.
Which one is better for resellers?
cPanel has the longer track record with billing tools and trained staff. Enhance includes WordPress tooling and per website resource limits in the price. Try the reseller flow you actually sell before choosing.
